Greetings Fellow Princewaleans
As we celebrate 101 years of existence today, 6 April 2026, let me take this opportunity to
wish you all, wherever you are, a Happy Foundation Day.
We are at the back end of what we can all agree has been a very successful Centenary
Celebrations during which we bequeathed a legacy to our school.
We used the theme ‘A CENTURY OF EXCELLENCE’ for our celebrations but you will all agree
with me whilst that may have been the case of yester years, it is disheartening to witness
the current state of our school and the alarming rate at which things have turned out for the
‘Not so good’, in fact I would go on to say ‘Not Good’.
Princewaleans All, it is now time to turn our attention to our school’s raison d’etre – making
it a fit, proper and functional institution of learning once again.
This means the introduction and implementation of the Single Administration System (SAS)
which have been endorsed by the Ministry of Education. The Board of Governors have
reached out to Alumni Chapters, under the Global Leadership umbrella, to raise the
required and much needed funds for the successful implementation of this very important
project in our school’s history.
I am sure most of you would have caught sight of the document entitled ‘WHERE WE WERE’
by Dr Lucien Turay that has been widely shared. This document gives a woeful picture of the
reality of how things have been recently at our beloved Prince of Wales school. No doubt,
that would act as the motivation needed to inspire us all to come together and make a
significant difference for the better because of that NICHE we have within our hearts for the
Prince of Wales Kingtom
There is no doubt in my mind that most of us are now aware of the reports and videos
already released and as keen followers of events at the school, you will realise how timely
and very much in place this project is. The aim is for the SAS to be fully implemented in
readiness for the start of the new academic year, September 2026.
Notwithstanding, we still have some way to go to ensure this project is successfully
delivered. This venture requires significant funding to the tune of up to $100k for its
successful implementation and sustainability. POWAA UK has already contributed $20,000
towards the implementation of the project to date but a significant amount is still required
to bring about this much needed change.
There is a lot of hard work ahead of us if we are to contribute and bring back our beloved
Prince of Wales school to it’s former glory as that distinguished Learning Institution it once
was and which without doubt, in my opinion, have contributed to what we all are today.
Therefore, we need to come together, just as we did for the Centenary Legacy projects. Let
this – setting our beloved Prince of Wales Kingtom, on the path of excellence in education
for another century and beyond, be our true and fitting legacy. This is our opportunity to
make our school that distinguished Learning Institution it used to be once again.
Princewaleans, please engage and come swell the chorus and together, let us turn the dial,
arrest the decline and change the fortune and trajectory of our beloved Prince of Wales
school.
This appeal goes out to all Princewaleans to come onboard and raise the much needed
funds to achieve this objective. We need to come together as a unified force just as we did
for the Centenary Legacy projects.
You are all invited to be on the lookout for regular updates as donations come in and, please
be reminded that no donation is too big or too small, so keep them rolling in.
WE YONE SCHOOL, NAR PRINCE OF WALES NAR WE YONE SCHOOL.
Thank you, thank you and thank you.
AD HONOREM ALMA MATER – FORWARD
